Challenge Sketch!!

So yesterday was an amazing 7 hours of dance recital and we’re EXHAUSTED!  Today was supposed to be a day of rest and relaxation but we ended up at MD’s history teacher’s encampment!  What a great day!

Here’s some shots!

Here they are powdering up.

Her history teacher is the fifth hat from the left!  They did great.  MD’s favorite part was – when he died! LOL!  It was a great time, but we were all very tired.

Ok so I’ve been doing some card making research and saw an easy technique that  each card should have 3 things that link them together and make a triangle.  Could be 3 anythings – three of the same color – ribbon, buttons, stamp, paper.  So now I’m trying to keep that in mind on each card.  Look at pictures of cards and you’ll see – triangles.

So I found a few minutes today to go downstairs and work on this card that has been making me CRAZY ever since I saw this sketch!

Here’s my card!

So I stamped the Element of Style flower (which I love!!) with Early Espresso on cream paper then backed them on brown paper, cut out one flower to pop up and added a pearl.  This card is really simple, but I have to tell you the calculation to figure out how big each piece should be and the backing pieces drove me crazy!  It’s so simple and yet very lovely!

To follow-up with the triangle – the link is brown stamped image, brown backing and brown ribbon – triangle!

Now back to the dance recital!!!  Hope it inspires you!  Have a Magical Day!

Espresso is my favorite color and perfect to use for that flower. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

Love how you panneled the beautiful stamp and added dimension with that single bloom and a pearl.

A bit of this. A bit of that.
