Freshly Made Sketch #56

So today I’m coming to you LIVE from the Craft Cave after making a super cute card for a Freshly Made Sketch #56.  Here’s the sketch:

Now for those of you who don’t know they put out this lovely sketch and then you try (the word here is ‘try’) to make a card using this lovely sketch.  It doesn’t have to be perfect to the sketch, but to use it as inspiration!  So here’s what I came up with:

I used Wild Wasabi for the color combination for this card.  The tree is from Lovely as a Tree, which is becoming my favorite stamp set this holiday.  The background on the main card was stamp using a floral stamp from the Elements of Style.  The bottom border is the Eyelet punch – top and bottom.  The ribbon is the 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and it’s actually Gumball Green.  Sadly you can’t tell but some of the branches have been ‘kissed’ by Dazzling Diamonds.  The shapes were cut at 3″ and 3 1/4″ using page 79 of the Accent Essential Cricut cartridge.

The bow was made using Deb Valdez’s fork technique!  If you haven’t seen it, check out her blog at Stampladee.com – she has so many great techniques.   This bow is a work in progress for me.

I think this card came out lovely – it’s simple and clean and makes me smile.  I hope it makes you smile too!  Have a Magical Day!!

P.S. – Alright I have to come clean!!  The layered shape and the Eyelet punch border that are both Wild Wasabi – ok well I didn’t have Wild Wasabi ink so I actually inked white paper to make the paper match!  I know Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater!  I hear you – but when you don’t have it, you have to create it!  Give it a try!
