Buttercup watercolor

I was watching Mike Deakin’s video making buttercups using Tim Holtz distress crayons.  Well I love watercoloring, so it inspired me to get my crayons out to do the same thing!  I grabbed both my aqua painter, a paint brush and my Gessoed journal page and got to work!  I primarily used the yellow and orange crayons from these two packs.

I tried to work on shadowing and detail as well as blending colors.  Here it is:

I think it came out alright.  Definitely another media to use when I’m out and about like at the beach!  I hope it will inspire you to try watercoloring!
